Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Coast
A helicopter hovering near a crowded southern California coastline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Videos posted on social media depict the aircraft starting to spin above Huntington Beach then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a steps adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Information on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
